I objective bought this printer from Office Max a couple weeks ago, and I really like it, especially the tray that will maintain half a ream of paper. I've ancient the built-in scanner to post book-cover pictures on Amazon, and it works ample.
The print cartages are not refillable, though, but I had a terrible experience with refillable cartages. In my outmoded HP printer, one of them leaked and made a stout mess. Actually, it worked out mammoth when because I took my printer befriend to Office Max where I bought it three years ago and where I got the cartages filled, they gave me a $250 credit. So my original machine only cost $160.
If you are doing a lot of printing, the HPL7680 is the one to fetch. It's a genuine distress to retain loading paper. Check the paper capacity if you're tempted to steal a cheaper printer.
There were three deal breaking problems with this item any of which on their hold would have been a headache.
1) 9:30 AM When the printer arrived I assign it together fairly posthaste with the exception of the requisite faceplate that is needed to power on the printer. The faceplate was not included in the package. Thinking to myself, "whatever I'll gain the faceplate sent and objective come by to printing" I station up the whole printer and rewired the fax.
Then upon startup the printer informs me that it will not inaugurate without the faceplate. Which leads me to dilemma 2
2) 10:15 AM After waiting for several minutes to arrive a customer service secure I am told I have to call the parts center in the US. Keeping the service find on one line and calling the parts center on the other, I then spent an hour relaying messages between the heavily Indian accented recent service gain and the stoned/drunk/tired/all of the above parts department acquire.
Eventually the parts department tried to relate me that there was no such share available but they could converse me where I could obtain it and Win it.
So to recap, I got to consume the entirety of my morning communicating between two service centers only to be offered the ability to bewitch a piece that the printer should have advance with in the first status for 90 dollars.
3) 1:30 PM Finally out of exhaustion I purchased the faceplate with the intent to bag the machine started and return the faceplate to derive my money serve since it is an entirely cosmetic portion. Once the machine starts the paper will not feed. All drivers and firmware were up to date and with Vista specific compatibility. Said drivers are available only from the HP website and not included in the box. Alas, the paper feeder refused to pull paper into the machine unless it was manually reset after each document was sent.
After researching online I found this defect is a favorite one resulting in more than one returned printer. Following suit, this 40 lb fragment of slag is now happily on its plan assist to HP, most likely to be unloading on another unsuspecting purchaser.
Pros: Expeditiously Printing when not being manually reset or paper manually fed into printer.
Cons: Customer Service, Parts not Included, Manufacturing Defects unrelated to non-included parts.
Disaster thy name is HP L7680.
I've had this printer for about 8 months. It prints dazzling well, and level-headed receives and prints faxes. However, a couple of months ago it conclude sending faxes. When I would try to fax, it would beget a screeching noise as the scan started, then enlighten me to "turn the power off and abet on". It would not be possible to turn the power off, so I would have to unplug it. Never could gain it to do any different, but it would collected print and would mild scan documents. However, now it has started doing the same thing when I try to scan. So I'm sparkling mighty left with a "one-in-one" instead of "all-in-one".
